Beyond Reach

Back at Engineering School in New Zealand, one of my close friends lived in close proximity to a Lamborghini showroom – which wasn’t far from where I lived either.  In fact the bus stop was right next to the showroom.  We would get off the bus and be like monkeys with faces pressed to the fences!  After a time of deep sighs and oohs and ahhs after inhaling the beauty of the latest model, we plod on to do our drab course work!  The Lamborghini was beyond reach for us then – it is for me now too!  Beauty, uniqueness, preciousness, value – not meant for all but only a select few.

Then I think of my make up back in Canada when I was working.I have always been the no fuss type of girl, who could get dressed in 10 minutes and shoot out of the door. My face was mostly au-natural.  However, for a night out, yes, I love my make up that enhances but not distracts!

Shiseido face cream, Shiseido liquid eyeliner in gray, Lancome waterproof mascara in navy blue, Estee Lauder, Elizabeth Arden and MAC lipsticks made up my collection. Of course when I came here to Sri Lanka to serve, all this had to go out of the window once it ran out – or dried up in this humid weather.

I began to buy a few local products or ‘foreign brand names’ (that were nothing but imitation).  However I found that I would end up having smears of colour running down my face with the sweat that pours – even with the ‘water proof’ stuff.  As if the sweat alone wasn’t sufficient of a stinging agent when it entered the eyes!  My skin would plucker up in protest.  Make up then became an item to be used only if it was absolutely necessary for presentation!

Recently I was yearning for a decent eye liner as I was fed up of not being able to wear it.  I decided to try out a ‘brand name’ that was authentic given the nature of the shop and of course the price tag attached to it.  What sheer joy to not have panda eyes at the end of the day when I wear it.  However the problem now is because it’s so expensive and was a ‘treat’ to myself, I’m reluctant to use it much too!!!

What’s got into me talking about brand names you may be asking?

Well, I was thinking of the single godly women out there who have been praying for their partners.. and patiently as well as impatiently waiting for God to bring the comparable helper.  I was thinking of these women who watch the men they like show interest yet take off with girls who are good at playing the ‘godly’ woman but who is full of schemes, the type who would flaunt her body, seduce the guy and lure him.  The type of girls whom God warns about who lure to sexual immorality, to adultery, those who have the Jezebel Spirit.  Schemes and pretense and hypocrisy isn’t of God but rather the works of darkness.  If a girl has to scheme and use techniques to lure away a guy, then it’s not hard to tell who this girl serves – surely not God although she claims to be doing so!

Then you wonder how this ‘godly man’ also was lured into temptation, who chose the fake glitter over God and His perfect plan.  Is it of any wonder then that the Scriptures tell us:

When wisdom enters your heart, And knowledge is pleasant to your soul, Discretion will preserve you; Understanding will keep you,
To deliver you from the way of evil. ……
From those who leave the paths of uprightness To walk in the ways of darkness; ……
To deliver you from the immoral woman, From the seductress who flatters with her words, Proverbs 2:10,11,12a,13, 16

These men who chose to leave the paths of uprightness to walk in the ways of darkness, who fall into the trap of the seductress who flatters with her words, they need wisdom, the wisdom of God!

So then what about the godly woman who was led on and dumped… or who this godly man who fell plonk into the trap but attempted to save his reputation by making a liar out of the godly woman that he ‘never was interested’.  Oh poor guy doesn’t know that the godly woman’s Father is the king of Kings and Lord of Lords, watching over her but giving a time for the accuser to wake up from his slumber.

See, just like the Lamborghini and high end brand name cosmetics isn’t for just everyone, these men know they truly can’t afford the precious daughters of God!  They look, they try to get into a relationship but then they fall for the girls who are ‘easy’ and ‘cheap’.  They can’t afford the pure, virtuous woman either emotionally or sexually or spiritually!  This could be either because they don’t know their true worth as to who they are in God or because they have given a foothold to the enemy and whooopppp the Jezebel spirit gal swoops in and catches her prey.    Of course they will have to reap the consequences later if they don’t come to their senses and do a U-turn to God soon enough where they can be restored back to the path of uprightness.

I just want to encourage the PRECIOUS women who are VIRTUOUS, who have a sincere tongue that is not hypocritical, that doesn’t flatter, those who are wearing the crown of Jesus who don’t have to play games and scheme and block other women who they are threatened by… You will wear the crown of the QUEEN really soon as you will be taken to your KING.

God sees your cries, God sees your hearts… God sees your motives.. God isn’t fooled!

And for those who are leaving the paths of uprightness for the gal who seduces and flatters with words, who are demons masquerading as angels of light – I urge you to cut ties for a time and a season to test what is of God.  Be transformed by the renewing of your mind and seek God’s wisdom and discernment before it’s too late.

Where do each of you stand today? What will happen if the MOMENT has arrived for the return of Christ?  Are you ready? Are you prepared?
