A couple of nights ago, I was at my laptop working but suddenly broke out in worship. I was smiling and swaying and singing in worship. While doing so, I saw a vision of bright broad golden ray of light descending from heaven amidst the dark… It was narrow at the onset but kept broadening, shedding light in the darkness…. I felt immense joy and peace being soaked in His glory… Then, closer to the beginning of the ray, I saw arms which I felt were God’s arms. A baby was hanging from his hands and God was swinging the baby. It was such a precious tender sight, that I began to sob and I found myself weeping… Just weeping… Nonetheless I continued worshipping with the sobbing and I knew God was tenderly working within me!
Later I was pondering on the vision and asking for the ‘word’ through this. This vision just blew me away as it was God showing me how much He loves me, that I’m His child, beloved child.
Likewise, I believe that God wanted me to share this with you as well… That many need to hear this or need to be affirmed of this..
- How do you feel when you see a guy tenderly carrying an infant or a baby?
(Well personally if you ask me that, I would be like ‘wowwww… is he single and available?’ It really tugs at my heart!)
- How do you feel when you see a father playing with his child and the child is giggling?
Isn’t it one of the most wondrous sights ever? When there is a healthy relationship between child and parent, the child becomes secure as it feels protected. Many children don’t have a healthy role model of a father. Some of us may have even missed out at that kind of innocence where we could be carefree and just giggle and have fun. Some of us may have had a conditional love – where any show of love can be received only if you are good and meet the standards that the parent has set. Love was only as a reward of doing and never for being.
However, it doesn’t matter what our past served us… For those of us who believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross, shed His blood, rose again and ascended back into Heaven, to His rightful place in Heaven next to our Father, we believe that through this, our sins have been forgiven and the gap between us and our Father has been bridged and that we can now have intimacy with Him through Christ.
(If you haven’t already done so and you believe in Jesus Christ and His work, then the time is right now for you to acknowledge that He did die for you and that you embrace Him whole-heartedly while being willing to be led by the Holy Spirit so that you may get into an intimate relationship with the Heavenly Father… It’s the best step of your life to step into the journey of believing that Jesus Christ is THE way, THE truth and THE life and that no one comes to the Father but through Him).
It doesn’t matter how unloved we may feel or be by those around us or those in our past let alone in our childhood, we have a Father who simply loves us not for what we do but for simply who we are:
The LORD your God is with you, He is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing – Zephaniah 3:17
Imagine our mighty God who is our Heavenly Father takes delight in YOU – actually not just delight but GREAT delight… it doesn’t matter what you have done right.. it doesn’t matter what you have done wrong.. He just longs for you to come running into His arms.. and for you to simply confess to Him and ask Him forgiveness and His grace and strength to turn things around…
The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit;
a broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise – Psalm 51:17
God isn’t looking for self-righteous, perfect hearts… Well if any of us are thinking that we are so, well that means we have a lot of blind spots! None of us are perfect and God knows that. He is looking beyond the appearances into our hearts, beyond the actions and the behaviours into our motives.
Our Father just wants us to come running to Him like a child goes to its Father. Is it of any wonder that Jesus says:
“I tell you the truth, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven” – Matthew 18:3

It doesn’t matter who has rejected you, who has scorned you, who has misunderstood you… God takes delight in you and blesses you!
No longer will they call you Deserted, or name your land Desolate. But you will be called Hephzibah, and your land Beulah; for the LORD will take delight in you, and your land will be married – Isaiah 62:4
You are PRECIOUS, the apple of His eye (Zechariah 2:8), the royal priesthood, created in His image and in His likeness (Genesis 1), knitted together by Him while you were in your mother’s womb, you are not an accident but a divine appointment (Psalm 139).
But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light – 1 Peter 2:9
He longs to swing in His arms and see you joyful with giggles and squirts of laughter.. Are you able to be child-like in seeking Him and enjoying His presence? He delights in you – take heart and do not lose hope no matter what the surroundings!
